"In 2025, after years of unexplained bloating and abdominal pain, I finally got a diagnosis: SIBO."
01 · The diagnosisA name for what was happening.
On one hand, it was a relief. Finally I had a name for what was happening to me: Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. On the other, I was starting a path I didn't realise would be so frustrating.
02 · The searchI started reading every label.
My gastroenterologist recommended the Low FODMAP diet. It sounded simple: avoid certain fermentable carbohydrates that feed the bacteria in the gut.
The reality was different. I started reading the labels of everything I bought. I discovered that most "healthy" products contained exactly the ingredients I had to avoid: inulin, FOS, chicory root, lactose. They were everywhere.
I looked for a meal supplement. As an entrepreneur, my schedule doesn't always allow me to cook three meals a day. I needed something fast, simple, and safe for my gut.
It didn't exist.
03 · The frustrationBloating with all of them.
I tried several products on the market. Bloating with all of them. Always the same culprits on the label.
I researched products formulated for the Low FODMAP diet. They existed… but only in the United States and Australia. None shipped to Europe.
How was it possible that in 2026 there was no Low FODMAP protein made in Europe?
04 · KlargutClarity for your gut.
The name comes from German: klar (clear, transparent) + gut (the gut, in English; "good" as an adjective in German). Clarity for your gut.
Klargut is what I wish I'd found when I was diagnosed: a Low FODMAP protein, made in Europe, no proprietary blends, every ingredient and every dose published before you buy.
It's not just a product. It's the answer I looked for and didn't find. I'm building it, with an EU manufacturer and a lot of patience.
